Sciatica

What is sciatica?

Sciatica refers to the pain experienced in the legs from a pinched sciatic nerve in the lower back. While these nerves normally have enough space to pass through without problem, sometimes these pathways shrink or are blocked by bulged discs or misaligned vertebrae.

How do you get sciatica?

Sometimes it is easy to trace back to an event, like a car accident, but other times it is an accumulation of years of bad posture, weak muscles, excess weight, or countless other causes, it can also start with something as simple as bending over the wrong way. Spinal degeneration and decay may also cause sciatica because arthritic bone spurs impede on the space normally used by the nerve.

Can chiropractic help?

Yes! Chiropractic helps restore the nerve interference and pinching, helping the body heal itself. “Before” and “after” photos have shown improved disc height and spacing.
